With a simple boolean expression to limit your result set roughly, then rank the result set by a word, a paragraph of text (a title, an abstract, a claim or any other forms), even whole document (a patent number/publication number). It overcomes too much to read by ranking the most relevant documents to top while keeping large set of document intact.
